Tournament Recaps

14 Gold Wins Flight 6 of PSR Power League!

(2/8/09):  We continued to improve our team play on Sunday, Feb. 8th.  Each match saw us get better, and we finished the day by erasing our one loss in pool play with a championship victory over a scrappy Cascade 13 Red.  Our match record in the Power League is now 8 wins versus 7 losses, and our set record is 18 wins and 17 losses.  The March 1st Power League tournament will see us playing in Flight 5, with the prize being an advance into Flight 4 for the April Power League tourney.  To achieve this, we need to continue to improve our individual skills.  And we need to build on the great team play that we finished the day with on Sunday.   Everyone played with great poise.  We couldn't have been successful without the contributions every single player made to our team.  We served 87% of our serves "in" with 64 Aces out of 247 attempts.  Best of all, we won all three of our 3-set matches with steady and tough serving all the way through the pressure-packed 15-point deciding sets.   We also continued to develop and use our "power play" skills with several stuff blocks, 35 Kills, and 33 Assists.

I have never seen ten players work so well together!  You gotta love volleyball after a day like Sunday!
