Tournament Recaps
H. C. C., Jan. 13th
| Coach Sally: The tournament went well for us. We
actually split our first match and
the girls tried very hard. Each player did something well to help the
team and of course we all made mistakes too. I thought Keith had an
interesting comment. He said, it's just like high school, the team with
the best serving at the time, wins. We had some moments of greatness
and some moments of mixed signals to the brain.
Overall, I had an absolute blast! It was exciting all day and I almost
lost my voice. I told Debbie that it was a harder workout than actually
playing!
|
Coach Debbie: We actually won 2 games
yesterday, each game was completely and totally exciting. I have to
admit, I had a very proud mom moment when Malia scored an ace on her
serve to win our first game. Was truly excited for our whole team
though! You should have seen their faces! They were ecstatic. (as Sally
and I were too). Serves were certainly key as a big factor in our wins,
but as Sally said there were other good things happening too. We ended
in the lower pool and lost the first match (but won one of those games).
We didn't finish last ! ;)
Great great time. I felt as though I had played a tournament myself.
Sally, my forearm muscles got sore from setting [warm-ups] that one
time!
