2008 - 2009 Tryouts Girls U12 to U14 Tryouts for the 2008/2009 USA-Volleyball Junior Olympic season began with the U12-U14 girls teams on Nov. 16th, 2007 at Lindbergh High School. After five sessions we formed two U14 teams, Dash Pt. 14 Teal and Dash Pt. 14 Gold. As of Jan. 13th, 2009, Gold has room for one more player, and Teal has room for two. Girls U15 to U16 Tryouts for the 2008/2009 USA-Volleyball season for our U15- and U16- teams began on Monday, Dec. 1st. We formed one U16 team following the sign-ups at Round Table Pizza. The Dash Pt. 16 Gold team will be coached by Mati Bishop with assistance from Elizabeth Zwicker. Late Tryouts As mentioned above, we have space for several more players. If you would like to tryout for one of our teams please contact Bob Stewart by email and schedule a tryout date. This must be done in advance of the tryout as we need to make arrangements with the Region for tryout insurance. You should consult both our home page and our schedule page to get the latest information on our practice schedule. The tryout and registration process is described below. Practice and Tryout Sites Lindbergh High School is about 1.5 miles east of the Valley Medical Center off the Valley Freeway (Hwy 167.) The following is a link for a map to Lindbergh: Map Link for Lindbergh High School Renton High School is just one block south of the Renton Airport. Access to the gym is easiest from Tobin street on the north side of the Renton campus. The following is a map link for Renton: Map Link for Renton High School We would like prospective athletes to complete the USA-Volleyball/Puget Sound Region membership registration prior to tryouts. The process is fairly straightforward, with the one clarification that you should not send the membership fee ($60 for Junior girls, and $15 for Boys and youngsters) to the Region. Our $20 tryout fee covers our athletes during the tryouts, and the club will pay the membership fees for all our players as part of the club fee. To register online, please go to the Region website www.PugetSoundVB.org and click on the "Registration" menu item in the dark blue band at the top of the page. That will take you to: http://www.pugetsoundvb.org/registration/registerIndividual.htm You will see a heading for New Members, with instructions for completing the online application. It will require an email address and a driver's license number. Parents may use their drivers license for their children. There is also a Junior medical information form that we will require. When you do the online registration, be sure to have a printer hooked up to the computer as you will want to print some forms at the end of the process. We will need to see the membership confirmation page at our tryouts unless you specify Dash Pt VBC as your club during the registration process in which case we will be able to verify your registration directly.
